Being a small independent label, we have relied on showrooms and fairs in the local community to promote our brand and increase our footprint from the very beginning. As with most retail businesses, this has been an exceptionally tough year. When we started planning for season three early this year, news of cancellation of a major event surfaced. This was followed by a complete halt in production because of the covid-19 circuit breaker. We launched part of the collection and made a practical decision not to continue with the rest.
Our design aesthetic has always centred around building a multi-purpose wardrobe for the modern sophisticated woman. As work and home boundaries blur and intertwine, our sartorial experiences evolve. A fresh approach to design is so necessary. We decided a pause is good as we recalibrate our business model and practices. It will challenge us to pivot and reposition the brand in the new normal.
